President’s Welcome
 Barry Carey president Naas Rfc

Welcome from Naas RFC President Barry Carey

You are very welcome to Naas Rugby Club website. I hope that you will find this site to be informative and a useful source of information on club activities and rugby generally during the current season.

We are located at Forenaughts, Naas, Co Kildare and detailed directions to the club are available on this website. We have excellent playing facilities comprising 3 pitches, floodlights, and all weather training facilities together with modern club house.

It is with great honour and pride, as President of Naas R.F.C. that I welcome everyone to Fournoughts this season and I wish all those involved in Naas Rugby Club, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters every success and enjoyment in rugby throughout the 2011-2012 season.

At the commencement of yet another exciting year for Naas Rugby Club, we can all look with a sense of pride at the continued and sustained success of our club at all levels from senior rugby through youth’s and mini’s rugby. We hope that this will continue during the current season.

With the continued help of our main sponsor Rory Larkin, RFL Steels, and indeed all of our other sponsors, Naas Rugby has maintained a healthy financial position despite the prevailing challenging national fiscal environment. This environment is likely to continue for some time yet and I urge all club members and supporters to assist in all club fund raising activities during the season. I thank them for their continued support and strongly encourage all club members and fans to support our sponsors in whatever way possible.

To all our supporters, welcome back for another season and we hope to give you something to cheer about on the playing fields. And why not bring a friend next time your down.

To our visitors, visiting teams and supporters I extend a warm welcome and hope you enjoy your time with us.

I wish our Club Captain, Gary Rowan, and all the players the best of luck for the coming season, together with our coaches, particularly our club coach, Niall Carson, and our Chairman of Rugby Dave O’Brien I wish a continuation of winning ways and entertaining football.

We are a community based rugby club, providing facilities, coaching, skills development and organising of matches for the youths of Naas and it’s environs. We will be fielding three adult teams and under 21s this season, we have approximately 120 adult players. With a girls team and teams at all ages from between seven and twenty about 500 youths are involved. All of this takes considerable organisation. I am very conscious of the small number of people who take on a great workload on behalf of the Naas RFC. The Club requires more volunteers at all levels. If you decide you could devote a little of your time in any way please feel free to contact me or any member of the executive.

I look forward to another successful season both on and off the field. This will only be achieved by continued hard work, single mindedness of purpose, and total commitment.

Best Wishes : Barry Carey, Naas RFC President
