Captains Message

As Captain of Naas R.F.C it gives me great pleasure to welcome all players, members, supporters and officials to Forenaughts. It is an honour to be awarded the captaincy of our great club. I intend to represent Naas R.F.C to the best of my ability.

We had a strong finish to last season, winning every game after Christmas and gaining promotion to Division 1B. To all our coaching team and staff I thank you for your commitment and dedication which is hugely appreciated by all the players.

I would like to wish all the teams in the club from minis all the way up to senior level all the best for the upcoming season.

To all the sponsors, and in particular our main sponsor Brady Family Ham: your continued support enables us to thrive as a club, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of all the players.

To our President Paul O'Brien and the rest of the executive committee, I would like to thank you for all your support. We greatly appreciate the huge amount off effort you put in behind the scenes. And, of course, to all our supporters, who travel far and wide to cheer us on: from all the team, thank you. We will strive to achieve the results you deserve this season.

In recent seasons a great amount of effort has been put in to encourage our supporters, members and families alike to fly the flag for the team and get involved in club culture. It is great to see the numbers increasing at home games, this has a huge affect to the players both on and off the field. I encourage all family and friends to come down to Forenaughts to support the team, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the craic.

Yours in rugby,
Will O'Brien
Club Captain 2016-2017
