OPEN NIGHT:

On Wednesday May 23rd, we at Naas RFC are commencing our annual Tag Rugby season once again with our Open Night / Try Tag for Free to launch the season with our new sponsor Volkswagen. We are kicking off at 7pm and all attending will have the chance to run-around on-field and then kick back at the clubhouse, getting in the mood for the leagues ahead. Tag shorts will be available for purchase. All are very welcome, players, teams or spectators etc.

 

COMPETITIVE NIGHTS:

Competitive Nights will be on Wednesdays with our first competitive match nights commencing on Wednesday May 30th continuing every Wednesday until our Finals Night which will be moved from a Wednesday to Friday July 27th 2012. On all Tag Match nights there will be two rounds of matches, Round 1 will commence ant 7pm and Round 2 will commence 8.157pm unless otherwise stated.

 

REFEREEING:

Would you like to become a TAG Referee?

Peter Fitzgibbon (IRFU) will be holding a Referees & Captains workshop in our clubhouse in Forenaughts on Tuesday 22nd of May 2012 at 7.30pm. It is really important that all referees that are going to referee Tag at Naas this season to attend. For this season 2012All referees new & experienced, young & a little more mature must register as a Tag referee online at http://www.irishrugby.ie/tagrugby/referees/register_to_ref.php. The workshop will focus on the Laws of the Game of Tag Rugby, the new Volkswagen Referees Tag Kit will also be issued at the workshops to those that are have registered & reregistered as referees for this Tag season 2012. New Referees are also very welcome to register to come on board with us also.

 

WHO CAN PLAY:

Anyone can play male or female, once they are over the age of 16 to infinity, this game is for all and suits all abilities.

 

REGISTRATION:

To register your team to play Volkswagen TAG at Naas RFC, log on to http://www.irishrugby.ie/tagrugby/register/index.php. Click on the link above to register your TAG Team, (teams don't have to be full just yet or paid for straight away).............don’t hesitate, register now to avoid disappointment later. Team Registration is €475 per team which does not have to be paid straight away.

 

GRADING:

All Teams will be graded to suit all teams abilities, we will have three grades at Naas RFC this season; B (inexperienced), C (mid standard), D (experienced).

How many on a Tag Team?

7 on the pitch at any one time during a match, 4 Male & 3 Female

How many on a Tag Team Squad?

Can we substitute during a game?

Yes

How long is a match?

40 Minutes consisting of 2 x 20 minute halves.

How do we score?

Scores are via Trys’ only, remembers if a guy scores its worth 1 points but if a girl scores its worth 3 points.

Can I play if I haven’t played Tag or Rugby before?

Yes

Do I have to be a member of a rugby club to play Tag Rugby

No
