Naas RFC held their 14th Annual Business Lunch on Friday 30 October at the Killashee House Hotel. The event was a great success and was very well attended by the local business community together with friends, guests and members of Naas RFC. Among the guest speakers were Tom Kiernan and Reggie Corrigan and Master of Ceremonies was
Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh (see further speaker details below). Also in attendance were Mayor of Naas Pat Clear, Jamie Heaslip, Moss Keane, Brendan Foley and Paddy Reilly.
Tom Kiernan
Thomas Joseph Kiernan won 54 caps for Ireland as a full-back between 1960 and 1973 and captained his country 24 times. At the time of his retirement he was Ireland's most-capped player, most experienced captain and record scorer in internationals with 158 points. He captained the 1968 British Lions tour to South Africa, playing in all four internationals. Tom was also the Munster team coach for their famous victory over the All Blacks in 1978.
Reggie Corrigan
Reggie Corrigan made his international debut against Canada in November 1997. He played for Ireland in the Rugby World Cup finals, in 1999 and 2003. He won the last of his 47 caps against France in the 2006 Six Nations Championship. Reggie continued to play with Leinster until the end of the 2006-07 season winning 138 caps and becoming their most capped player of all time. He has been appointed scrumaging coach at Leinster for the 2009/10 season.
